Job Description

The Coach Tourism Association (formerly the CTC) has been established for 28 years and boasts a membership of 300 members compiling of coach tour operators, tour wholesalers, attractions, tourism suppliers and companies involved in the UK coach tourism market.  They are creating a new role of Communications Director to actively promote coach tourism and the CTC. The CTC organise workshops and events to promote coach tourism and offers networking and business opportunities to its members and advises members of emerging trends plus PR opportunities through fam. trips and sales opportunities through their consumer website. We seek an experienced and versatile professional to drive the CTA membership, to deliver a voice for the coach tourism industry and add membership benefits to its growing membership base. 

As Communications Director you will have a varied and busy role which will include : 

  • Creating a membership recruitment strategy

  • work closely with membership including meetings and calls and attending trade shows to engage with the CTC members and potential new members

  • Work with the membership services team to plan and create a calendar of events

  • Organise and prepare speakers and event content for the annual Conference & Worksop

  • Build close relationships with travel media

  • Attend Board Meetings and report quarterly activity 

We seeks a Communications Director who can demonstrate : 

  • Proven knowledge of the coach tourism market in the UK

  • A self starter and excellent motivation and organisational skills

  • Persuasive, influential, personable and able to maintain a large number of relationships

  • A good balance of fun and professionalism

  • Strong negotiating skills and have proven  strategic skills

  • A track record of success in sales  and operational management

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint 

This is a home based, part time role (2/3 days a week) and various benefits will include office set up (if needed), phone, approved travel . This will be a high profile role and you will report to an extremely experienced and knowledgeable board. You will be travelling to most of the UK travel trade shows and events plus various CTA events.

PLEASE NOTE : this is a home based role,  and the preferred candidate will live within commuter distance to London as many of the meetings and all the Board meetings are held in London. But for the right candidate they are happy for the person to be based anywhere in the UK including Kent, Hertfordshire, Sussex, Surrey or Essex
