ETOA have created a new role which will develop close working relationships with their online and tour operator members to look at issues that face their operational departments and help communications between local and central government, address communications between ETOA and members on ongoing and new issues such as tour guides, coach safety, visa issues, and any operational issues that ETOA can represent the industry at senior level.
As Head of Ops and Destination Response your role will often involve last minute travel to Europe, and interaction with destinations and local policy makers. Your experience should include or you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of ;
Being able to prepare reports and write creative articles for media and external communications
Develop and manage information about destinations and attractions throughout Europe
Being up to date on industry concerns within the European group tourism sector
Respond quickly to operational issues that are relevant to membership
Attend and participate in third party meetings and events as appropriate
Support and deliver in house training e.g. challenges facing tour operators
You should have a wide knowledge of European destinations and suppliers, ideally with some tour leader or tour management experience. This will be a varied and interesting role, you need to be a self starter and motivated and have a genuine interest in tourism within Europe.
