Job Description

Major Travel Trade Association based in London seeks a Market Manager for Spain to account manage hotels, attractions, tourist boards, online companies and other tourism services and to develop new members. As part of your role you will have the opportunity to travel.

We seek someone who has experience of working in the European tourism industry, are based in London and come from a sales, contracting or account management position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for account managing Spanish based tourism and travel clients (B2B) and increase memberships attendance at events
  • Responsible for increasing sales from Spain from various sectors including hotels, attractions, tourist boards, online travel, restaurants, event venues and other tourism suppliers
  • Research and plan a growth for your market
  • Identify and support new events needed in your territory which addresses industry concerns in Spain
  • Work closely with local and national tourist boards
  • Attend and represent the Association at trade shows throughout Europe and events the organisation arrange including Brussels, Paris, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin and Lucerne
  • Liaise with events team and suggest new events

Experience & skills required:

  • Be fluent in English and Spanish – Catalan useful
  • Proven experience within tourism in contracting, sales or account management
  • Ability to work with all levels of seniority
  • Experience of working with a CRM and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of Spanish tourism industry with some industry contacts
  • Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work for deadlines
  • Experience of attending events, workshops and trade shows
  • Be a team player
  • Be self-motivated and have excellent communication
