Job Description

Events & Operations – London based Trade Association are growing their events team and we are seeking an experienced Events & Operations candidate to work closely with the Head of Events, to source venues and set up arrangements for industry events throughout Europe and some long haul destinations. A busy and varied role which will involve some travel, working in the Event & operations team you will : 

  • Be Project Manager for a number of events held each year in Europe including trade shows, workshops, conference and seminars

  • Negotiating with suppliers and working with a range of high profile bodies including tourism associations, the press, government agencies, tourist boards and  industry heads

  • Handling all operational and administrative needs for events from 20 people to 1000+

  • Product development, sourcing new venues, attending fam trips

  • Attending most events held in London, Paris, Brussels, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and other major European cities

  • Managing events staff and admin staff

  • Liaising regularly with internal departments such as marketing, sales, finance and IT

  • Managing and fixing budgets and all financial elements of the events 

Events & Operations candidates must be able to demonstrate : 

  • Proven operational experience working within a tour operator, incentive or MICE company at a senior level

  • Experience of working in Events

  • Preference given to candidates with a knowledge or passion of working in the tourism sector

  • Knowledge of putting together an event proposal and operating an event

  • Fluency in English essential – a 2nd European or Chinese language useful

  • Experience of working as a team

  • time management skills and ability to work without supervision – you will be given a lot of responsibility
